Really good restaurant with friendly staff who provide pleasant evenings out in abingdon.

Service is good and usually speedy.

Also offers available for takeaway options.

I thought Abingdon was bereft of decent independent restaurants. Apparently I was wrong! I swung by for their Sunday all-you-can-eat buffet and was impressed, both at the quality of food and value. Service was friendly and quick. Best of all was the ambiance in the restaurant: low-lit, spacious yet cosy, with large indoor vines and leather chairs hinting at India of days gone by.

A perfect place to catch up with someone over decent Indian food.

This is an OK Indian place. Average prices and not my favourite place but still decent. Not cheap but not so expensive you never want to go back :-)

It's got a good selection, the staff are indifferent but the food comes hot and well made so a strong average.

I'd suggest arriving a little earlier than 8pm as it isn't the largest place in the world and it can get quite busy on the weekends.

When I lived in the area 5 years ago Dil Raj was one of my favourite places for a curry. Returning recently after a long absence, I found that Dil Raj still serves up a pretty good meal.

Their menu has a good selection of dishes to choose from, characterised by good flavours and use of fresh ingredients in the sauces. Like many Indian restaurants, a lot of dishes are created by combining meat with sauces in final preparation and this approach can mean that the meat or chicken doesn't get a chance to take on the flavours of the sauces. In addition, some of the sauces verge on being a little too sweet.

However, for my benchmark curry meal - prawn puri, chicken jalfrezi and a keema naan - Dil Raj still delivers the goods.

Not bad a bad place to get a curry in Abingdon, service is a little slow.
